Engineering Build Camp
Explore the engineering design and build process through LHER’s Engineering Build Camp. While attending 6 hours of hands-on activities (split into 3 days of 2 hour sessions), students will build a drivable robot chassis from start to finish. Going from a pile of nuts, bolts, and materials, each student will build, wire, and ultimately drive a completed robot. Along the way, students will learn about drivetrain styles, compare and contrast tank drive vs. holonomic drive, wheel type, direct and indirect drive, motor gearing, and how design choices impact a robot’s maneuverability, traction, acceleration, reliability, and more. Students will conclude the camp by having the opportunity to test and drive up to five different styles of drivetrains built by camp attendees, experience the differences, and assess the pros, cons, and usages of each.

Please complete a separate registration for each drone session that a child
plans to attend. Multiple children must be registered individually.
